Welcome to Tour-ish – A Locals Way to Explore Vancouver Island North
At Tour-ish, we’re your friendly, pata-gucci wearing, trail-mix-carrying, West Coast walking tour crew — ready to take you on a locals' guide to Vancouver Island. We’re not big on rigid schedules or megaphones. We’re more into ocean breezes, forest trails, 35 shades of green, and a solid “hey, there bud!” to start the day.
Our laid-back, easy going walking tours are all about showing you the Island the way locals actually live it — with a bit of hiking, a lot of storytelling, and maybe even a stop for Salmon Jerky if you're lucky. Whether it's exploring in town gems, lush rainforests, coastal trails, or that one beach only locals seem to know about, we’ve got your West Coast wanderlust covered.
We welcome all kinds of curious humans — solo adventurers, chill couples, friend groups, or even your visiting cousin who still thinks you can pet a black bear (you can, but only once). If you're into good company, great views, and a guide who can balance a factoid with a dad joke, you’re our people.
Tour-ish: Half Guide, Half Vibe

WHERE ARE WE GOING? WHAT ARE WE DOING?
All adventures kick off in Port Hardy, right at the top of Vancouver Island — where the roads end and the wild things begin. From there, we’ll tailor the day to you: your pace, your interests, and your comfort level (because not everyone wants to climb a mountain before lunch). You can choose a relaxed stroll through town or dive into the backcountry for something more off-the-beaten-track. Either way, we’ve got you.
We’ll visit scenic spots, hidden gems, maybe meet some wildlife (the polite kind), and share stories about the history, culture, and character of the area.
It’s a small-group vibe — 1 to 4 people max — so it’s personal, flexible, and never rushed. You’ll come away with beautiful photos if you want, but more importantly, you’ll leave with memories, knowledge, and a few good laughs.

About your handsome, smart, sometimes awkward guide!
Geoff Heith is a full-time photographer and filmmaker who collaborates with a range of tourism and outdoor brands—basically, if it involves a camera, fresh air, and possibly a bear, he’s in.
In the summer of 2021, Geoff, his wife, and their four kids (yes, four—no, it’s not a daycare, they’re all his) packed up and moved to Port Hardy. His wife actually grew up there, and after years away, they felt the magnetic pull of Vancouver Island—or maybe it was just the promise of better housing prices and fewer traffic lights—there aren’t any.
Since then, Geoff has earned a reputation in the area as “that guy who knows way too much random stuff about Vancouver Island.” No one has officially called him the Jeopardy host of the North Island, but someone has asked, “Geoff, how do you know all this stuff??” To which he always replies with a smile, “ADHD!”
